The SBG Sox Fest will be held this weekend at Trustmark Park. This two day showcase event will see some of the top high school baseball players in the state visiting the Jackson area. The SBG Sox Program will have ten teams entered in the event.
This is the inaugural season for the SBG Sox High School Showcase Program. Under the leadership of Chris Snopek, top players from Mississippi and surrounding states compete in showcases for college recruiters and MLB scouts. Playing in local and national events organized by Perfect Game, 2D Baseball, Prep Baseball Report and others, the SBG Sox Fest is presented by P360 Performance Sports in Jackson, who also created and will be presenting the Southeast Collegiate Baseball League in Jackson, Hattiesburg and Baton Rouge later this month.
High School Showcase Team organizations form teams from the top high school players in the area and compete against other organizations. The SBG Sox Fest will includes teams from the Easley Baseball Group from the Memphis area, and SBG Sox will field 10 teams in the event.
Trustmark Park is the home of the Mississippi Braves, the AA Minor League Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Located in Pearl, the park opened in 2005, with a capacity of 8,480 including 5,500 chair back seats in the reserved area. Schedules will be released soon with dates and locations for all league games. The schedule for any games at Trustmark Park are pending, working around the Mississippi Braves home schedule. Located at 1 Braves BLVD, the park anchors a variety of shopping locations including Bass Pro Shop, Sam's Club, The Outlets of Mississippi and numerous hotels and restaurants.
P360 Performance Sports is home of the Nationally Recognized Sox Baseball Program. Two-time National Champions, Sox Baseball has 40 teams that play in youth baseball and ten teams in the SBG Sox Program. P360 teams with Traction Sports Performance in Baton Rouge to operate the Southeast Collegiate League. P360 baseball training facilities in Jackson, Flowood and Hattiesburg provide training and practice for youth, high school, college and professional baseball players. In 2020 the company launch the Sox Softball program, with teams in Hattiesburg for the 2020 season and expanding to the Jackson market in 2021.
